"SUGAR" is a fun dance act featuring three lead vocalists and a cranking live band, or a mixture of musicians and backing tracks, for events where space is limited. The group has a unique style of entertaining – fun, relaxed and highly interactive - which has made them a hit with private and corporate clients alike. The playlist is jam-packed with well-known dance tunes by popular artistes from the 70s 80s and 90s and this also endears them to audiences. The girls carefully put together a set list for each performance which will perfectly suit each and every occasion and musical or entertainment brief. Whether you just want people to groove around in their seats, tapping their toes and singing along, or you want to see the dance-floor full, “SUGAR” will fulfill all expectations. No 'B-sides’ - just straight-up everybody-on-the-dancefloor singalong party favourites.
“SUGAR" has been a popular choice for conferences, private parties, corporate functions, festivals and special events ever since it’s inception in 1994. As well as performing at events around the greater Auckland area and New Zealand, “SUGAR” was a regular fixture at SKYCITY Auckland, on the Deck/Atrium, New City Bar/Sammy’s and Aces Stage/Main Gaming Floor. “SUGAR” has performed in a wide range of venues including boats, on beaches, on stages over swimming pools, on roof-tops, in backyards, hotels and airplane hangars from Bali to Queenstown… you name it, and they have played in it or on it!
“SUGAR” features three of Auckland’s versatile and natural-born entertainers Wah, Jaz and Boo. These three remarkable women have been “BFFs” on and off the stage since the beginning of their successful musical and business careers. This long-time association and friendship is reflected in the musical synergy and energy they create. The enjoyment they derive from being together spills off the stage and envelopes the audience. It is also a special and unique quality of this group that they can each comfortably take the lead, as the singer for a particular song, or for the ‘chit-chat’ that goes on between themselves and the audience. Individually they are confident performers, who are very comfortable on stage; together they create a warm and fun-filled environment which is welcoming and inclusive of the audience.

THEMES: “SUGAR” also offers various themed and tribute sets – chose from the ever-popular “THE EAGELLES” (showcasing your favourite tunes from the EAGLES) “SOUL SISTERS” “ROCK CHIC” or “DISCO DIVAS” complete with big shoes and hair!
FORMAT: Full live band - three x 45 minute sets over three hours + optional instrumental jazz set earlier in the evening. Quartet version - two x 60 minute sets over two and a half hours.
DESCRIPTION: For the full wow-factor we recommend the 8-piece version of “SUGAR”, with drums, bass, keyboard, one or two guitarists or one guitar and saxophone or DJ. However the cutdown unit is also popular, as it fits well in smaller spaces such as boats or private lounges. Guitarist Paul Voight and keyboard player Ernie Semu bring the tracks to life and also form the core of the live band, all of whom have many years of playing professionanally, recording, touring and performing fulltime. “SUGAR” combines this wealth of vocal and musical talent and experience and turns it into a whole lotta’ boogie!
