Born in the UK, Lee studied music at Newcastle University, after which he began performing live in a professional capacity, quickly establishing himself in the live music scene from @ 2004. Lee fronted the band CLARION for three years before forming the duo WOODFACE. As part of WOODFACE, he toured much of Europe before settling in Nice, South of France, 2007. The duo played throughout the French Riviera for three years, one of the many highlights being the opening act for the main stage at the annual music festival “Fete de la Musique’ in 2010.
Shortly after arriving in NZ Lee was invited to become the lead singer of KINGPINS – a very popular Auckland covers dance band. As a covers artiste Lee performs an average three to four shows every week, his live performances are well polished and never fail to impress. He can be seen playing solo, duo and band gigs at various venues around New Zealand; from chilled out Sunday afternoon sessions to after-match parties at Mt Smart Stadium and high-energy dance-floor-filling parties.
Aside from this, Lee has chosen to donate his time and talents to several charities including Starship Children’s Hospital, The Child Cancer Foundation and the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
At the moment Lee’s main focus is working on his new original music with the help of Pete Warren (ex Lip Service and DD-Smash). The pair have been playing as a ‘guitar/drums’ duo since November 2011, with their energetic performances and well-crafted repertoire making them a favourite amongst pub-goers. At the end of August 2012 they were asked to perform two new tracks on TVNZ’s Good Morning show, receiving great feedback and a follow up slot to promote the new CD once available. With two albums to his name; Less is More (2006) and Flashes to Ashes (2011), Lee is in the process of writing his third album Smokescreens & Pipedreams.
